lauren fensterstock | awareness
Lauren Fensterstock is an American artist, among other things, that lives in Maine. I chose to research her because I liked the way she incorporated crystals and gems into her artworks. She has worked with a variety of other materials as well, but the exhibit that caught my eye is Some Lands Are Made of Light, her solo exhibition at the Claire Oliver Gallery in Harlem. About half of this exhibition is made of ink and crystals on paper. Amrita 2

artist copy | process
I worked on my Artist Copy drawing during class this week. I'm definitely not going to finish in the time given, but I think I've gotten pretty good with the artist's mark. Using graphite instead of ink (which was what the original was done in) has been challenging; however, I think that by working on this drawing, I've already improved. I'd already done the right foot, so this week I worked more on the fabric and the left side.
