WHAT IS A STYLIST?

I chose to research stylists for this post. You might be thinking, how does this relate to art? Well, stylists curates looks, or aesthetics, for a person or brand. They're basically a step down from actual fashion designers, although they do just as much work, in their own way.

WHAT DO STYLISTS DO?

They're repsonsible for creating and maintaing a curated image for someone by determining and coordinating what they wear, how they wear it, and when they wear it. It has to be visually appealing and match the event or person's requirements. Stylists work with anyone, even some of the most famous celebrities and models, putting together looks and outfits that match their aesthetic. This can involve staying on-top of trends, researching modern fashion, watching runway shows, understanding fashion history, sourcing products for clients, and maintaining the aesthetic the client desires. They might also write articles to stay up-to-date.

WHAT CAN A STYLIST MAJOR IN?

Generally, some sort of degree is recommended in order to gain a foothold in the fashion world. These are the most useful degrees to get if looking to pursue a career as a stylist.
