sculpture | process

The last two weeks, we've been working on a sculpture project with the prompt "the whole is greater than its parts". My sculpture is going to resemble a seagull (or raven, which I think may fit with some of my ideas better) with a head and wings made of clay and a body of wood.
Last week, I started working on shaping the head and beak out of clay. I've been working on refining the head and beak and connecting the two this week, and I also began modeling the wings out of clay (though they aren't really recognizable yet. I think it's the feathers.) I do not think I will have enough time after break to completely finish, so over break I may begin working on the wooden body and collecting materials I need to complete my sculpture. Overall, I think I could've been a little more productive, but I don't use clay often so it's alright. I'm pretty happy with what I have so far.
