project #5 | process post

For our fifth in-class project, I worked with watercolor instead of acrylic. I feel like it's going really well and I really enjoy the flow of painting with watercolor. I did accidentally layer come of the colors too much and they got too dark, but I think with practice I'll get better at not doing that. I really like how vibrant the colors can get though, and painting the background is super fun. I did not start with a sketch first, which I think was part of some of the proportional issues, but as I painted things developed well. Overall I'm happy with how the project progressed and I think I re-learned a lot about watercolor while I worked out shading, figure, and fixing some of my mistakes!
