The last couple of weeks we've been making personal projects, focusing on personal and teacher-assigned goals. Mine were to mix materials more, play with color, and work on composition, and I accomplished all of those but to be honest I really hate what I made. I didn't enjoy it as much and I think I would've preferred painting normally but I mean, it was good to try. I liked playing around with the color and composition, it was fun to work with paint texture and papers and all of that. The issue was just more with putting it all together... didn't turn out as I hoped. But overall it's gone somewhat well and I know what to avoid in the future! I started by painting the paper I was going to use to collage, then I started layering it and finally added a little bit of paint. I had to cut down on the size some which was annoying but I think turned out beneficial in the end. It wasn't a super complicated process I just discovered it's something I don't really like.
