I listened to Oura Sananikone's 02/04/25 lunchtime lecture. I thought his background was really interesting due to the variety of art he's made -- comics, sculptures (toys), and paintings. All of his work was interesting, but I particularly liked his comics, which seem to blend several styles of art in a really interesting way. That was probably the most surprising part to me, since I don't really read comics, and his style almost clashed with what I would consider 'traditional' comic art. I loved his style overall and would love to know what influenced it. His commitment to trying new things (from the mural to his range from comics to sculptures to painting) was admirable and something I might try to do while working on my sketchbook pages for this quarter.
